saggy ceiling. 

many people who buy old houses like ours put drywall right over the old plaster. thats not going to work in this case! and we're not getting into this mess right now. the plaster was so saggy in here, we could barely get our "band aid" to stick. looks like we'll be tearing out the old plaster in the ceiling... 

we'll put that on the "to do" list!

a new fence! made from the 1 x 4's salvaged from the roof

new fence, with the suddle back drop of our metal recycling pile

temporary repurpose. the awning came off the triple window in the foyer. we tacked it up to the back shed to provide a dry space to protect our repurposing materials

this is it! our new home...

so why the blog? because we're crazy. 

we're takin on this old 1920 bungalow fixer upper.

we're going to make this house our home.  there is plenty of work to be done to get us in this house and living back in the mountain town that we so dearly love. its gonna be crazy as we attempt a somewhat DIY renovation. you are here because you want to go through this with us...
