while we're at it...

since we are now officially tearing up the floor in the new master (former dining),
might as well redo the master bathroom too!
looking a bathroom, from the bedroom
before
 where we are now:
so nice! and smells great too!
(NOT!)
next up? putting up the wall and an almost finished dining room!

thats one way to do it

bathroom ceiling
saggy ceiling.
many people who buy old houses like ours put drywall right over the old plaster. thats not going to work in this case! and we're not getting into this mess right now. the plaster was so saggy in here, we could barely get our "band aid" to stick. looks like we'll be tearing out the old plaster in the ceiling...
we'll put that on the "to do" list!

rainy day...

looks like we're going to be working inside!
ok i wasn't working inside... i was in beaufort. yep, i left nick all alone to work on the house while i went back to to fire some pots and  pack up the studio. it rained. so the focus was on on demoing the inside. this is what it looked like.
dining room now

dining room in october

fireplace in dining room, super cool brick underneath the plaster...BONUS!!!!

dining room, another view

den looking towards entry

rotten as all get out
this was the corner of the house where the ceiling caved in during the roof demolition. this was also where the roof moved when you walked on it. even more fun? this is where after we demoed the drop ceiling we notice a crack where the ceiling and the wall met that was "slightly" gaping. this gap eventually revealed the wall seperating from the house. notice the very rotten beams... one of them had rotted down to 4 feet tall.
(don't worry its fixed now!)

covering the window and the fireplace in the den
same room, october (can't see the fireplace very well though)

breaking it down, this action shot was right in the middle of demo

tarp over front porch and den/entryway after ceiling demo.
